What Is the Backup Payment Method Feature?
Customers can add a secondary payment method that automatically kicks in if their primary card fails. This reduces churn from failed payments.
How Customers Add a Backup Payment Method
- Go to their subscription
- Click on payment method
- Under "Backup Payment Method", click "Choose Payment Method"
- Select existing card or add new one
Promoting Backup Payment Methods
- Proactively email active subscribers encouraging them to add a backup
- Export customers with recent failed payments from LUNA Admin > Analytics > Payment Recovery
- Reach out to offer support on updating payment method
